As you are no doubt aware, there is a need for literature that requires the performer to move fluently from the lowest register to higher registers, within a single phrase or lip setting. Traditional trumpet music simply has not made that kind of demands upon the player. Intervallic leaps are also an important part of the Etudes. The emphasis, in this collection, is NOT upon the lowest and highest registers. My personal favorite is Etude Ten, subtitled, The Banjo (see below).
